A key appointment in the new structure is the Head of Residential Land for the Midlands & North, focusing on existing brownfield regeneration projects and building considerable development pipeline for the future.

Job Description
As the Head of Residential Land for the Midlands and North, you will be fully accountable for the identification and securing of new opportunities, maximising value through the planning process and disposal of serviced land to the market and/or transfer of land to St. Modwen Homes. With an excellent understanding of the external market, you will actively help shape and define the overall Residential strategy and implement it effectively in line with the overall Regional and Business growth plans.

A critical aspect of this role will be the need to identify and make every effort to secure, new residential land development opportunities for St. Modwen. Overseeing submissions to the Investment Committee, supporting the valuations process, budgetary and cash-flow management, in partnership with Regional Finance, are also vital parts of this important role.

From day one, you will establish rapport with key stakeholders ensuring you make a positive impact on these critical relationships. Whether you are cultivating relationships internally or externally you will help maintain these across the Residential Land team and beyond. Managing the full development and disposal life-cycle for all Regional Residential sites, you will exemplify the high standards we strive for at St. Modwen.

Passionate about delivering excellence, you have a key leadership role and will be accountable for providing coaching and leadership to the team; building potential talent and succession for key roles and ensuring collaboration between the team. This will be critical, supporting the development, asset management and planning teams to work together effectively to identify and manage Residential projects.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements for the role include:
• A proven track record in the delivery of large/complex Residential development opportunities and successfully negotiating and managing all aspects of the acquisition and disposal process
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience of securing large, complex Residential acquisitions
• Experience of analysing commercial data to achieve the best outcome
• An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal & external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
• Experience of managing a multi-disciplined team
• An excellent professional network with the ability to manage this in order to maximise its potential
• Experience gained in a relevant sector preferably with a developer or agent
• A relevant professional qualification.
