The business is embarking on an exciting phase with ambitious growth plans and therefore seek to appoint talented individuals who can embrace and contribute to the new purpose; 'Changing Places. Creating Better Futures', and demonstrate their core values. A key appointment in the new structure is the Head of Major Projects for the Midlands & North region.
As the Head of Major Projects for the Midlands & North, you will be fully accountable for the acquisition, development and disposal of all Major Projects for the region. With a good understanding of the external market, you will actively help shape, define and implement the overall development strategy within this sector. You will also take the lead on a number of projects overseeing the achievement of key milestones.
A critical aspect of this role will be the need to identify and make every effort to secure new complex high value project opportunities. You will also oversee submissions to the Investment Committee. Other vital parts of this role include supporting the valuation process and budgetary and cash-flow management in partnership with Finance.
From day one, you will establish rapport with key stakeholders ensuring you make a positive impact on these critical relationships. Whether you are cultivating relationships internally or externally you will help maintain these across the Major Projects team and beyond. Managing the full development and disposal life-cycle for all major projects, you will exemplify the high standards we strive for at St Modwen.
Passionate about delivering excellence, you have a key leadership role and will be accountable for providing coaching and leadership to the team; building potential talent and succession for key roles. Ensuring collaboration between functional teams will be critical most particularly with Planning, Asset Management and Finance.
The Successful Applicant
A proven track record in the delivery of major mixed-use development projects; successfully negotiating and managing all aspects of the development, acquisition and disposal process
Strong financial acumen with experience of leading large, high value complex mixed-use developments
Experience of analysing commercial data to achieve the best outcome
An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal & external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
Experience of managing a multi-disciplined team
The ability to manage your professional network to maximise its' potential
Experience gained in a major mixed-use schemes preferably with a developer or agent
A relevant professional qualification.
