role summary

You will help protect and restore peatlands in Wales.
You will use satellite and aerial images and computer models.
You will turn complex data into clear information for the team.
You will lead work on remote sensing in the National Peatland Action Programme (NPAP).

key tasks

Lead projects using remote sensing and modelling tools.
Analyse and explain satellite and aerial images.
Work with software like GIS (Geographic Information System) and R for data.
Give advice and clear reports to help make decisions.
Work with colleagues across Wales and the UK.
Keep up to date with new technology and ideas.

skills and experience

Knowledge of remote sensing and numerical modelling.
Experience using GIS and data analysis tools.
Ability to explain complex information clearly.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Able to manage projects and give strategic advice.

£ pay and hours

Working hours and pay details will be given on application.

location and workplace

Based at Natural Resources Wales office.
Flexible working with some home working possible.
Regular meetings and training planned in advance.
