role summary

The General Medical Council (GMC) wants someone with lots of investment experience.
This is to join their Investment Committee for four years.
The GMC makes sure doctors, physician associates (PAs), and anaesthesia associates (AAs) in the UK do their jobs well and keep patients safe.

key tasks

Help look after the GMC’s £63 million investments.
Join committee meetings four times a year in London.
Sometimes join extra meetings if needed.
Work with others to make good investment choices.
Follow rules about honesty and good behaviour.

skills and experience

Have experience in investment or fund management.
Know about fixed income and multi-asset funds.
Understand risks in investments.
Think about ethical (right and wrong) issues in investing.
Be able to plan ahead and think clearly.
Follow the GMC’s code of conduct and the Nolan Principles of Public Life.

£ pay and hours

Meetings are at least four days a year plus time to prepare before meetings.

Meetings take place in London.
