role summary

You will be a Lay Council member at the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
HCPC protects the public by making sure health and care workers meet good standards.
The Council makes big decisions and checks the work of HCPC leaders.
You might also lead the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee, which looks at risks and money matters.
This role helps keep people safe and shapes health and care rules in the UK.

key tasks

Attend about 30 days of meetings a year.
Go to Council meetings in London and committee meetings online.
Help plan the future of HCPC.
Make sure HCPC follows good rules and does the right thing.
Give your views and ask questions to help improve HCPC’s work.

skills and experience

Experience in making important group decisions.
Good at building strong working relationships.
Able to support clear and honest work.
Care about fairness, equality, and public safety.
Have recent financial experience and an accountancy qualification.

£ pay and hours

You will work about 30 days per year.
Meetings are paid (details given on applying).

location and workplace

Council meetings are in the HCPC office in London.
Committee meetings usually happen online.
