role summary

You will be the Chief Information Security Officer at the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
DBS helps keep communities safe in the UK.
You will lead all security, cyber security, and data protection work.
You will make sure the organisation is safe and follows the law.
You will work with the top leaders and help them make good security decisions.

key tasks

Create and lead a security plan for DBS.
Make sure security and privacy are part of daily work and projects.
Act as Data Protection Officer to advise on laws and risks.
Manage risks, prepare for security incidents, and keep things running safely.
Help all staff understand why security matters and what they must do.

skills and experience

Have lots of experience in security, cyber security, and data protection.
Be a strong leader who has worked with senior boards before.
Understand how to manage security risks in big organisations.
Be good at explaining complex security ideas in simple ways.
Have good judgement and business awareness.
