role summary

Work for 3 months on a project about grey seals.
Use a 30-year study from Skomer Marine Conservation Zone.
Help protect and monitor grey seals in the UK.
Use data to see real changes in seal numbers and health.

key tasks

Look at how grey seals are watched using new technology.
Use cameras, drones, and computer tools to study seals.
Work with experts from Natural Resources Wales, called NRW.
Give advice to help keep the seal monitoring good and useful.

skills and experience

Good knowledge in data and numbers (quantitative analysis).
Comfortable working with new technology like drones.
Able to meet deadlines and work well with others.
Must be a PhD student and available for 3 months.

£ pay and hours

This is a short term placement for 3 months.
Flexible hours and some work from home possible.
Contracted to nearest NRW office to your home.

location and workplace

Work near your home at an NRW office.
Some meetings and training face-to-face, planned in advance.
Use Microsoft Teams for interviews and meetings.
