Specialist Environment & Health Assessment Advisor

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Environment and Health Assessment Advisor to provide expert advice and undertake impact assessments for NRW's projects and plans. This includes Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Health Impact Assessment (HIA), ensuring environmental and health considerations are embedded in decision-making.

You will work on a varied and high-profile portfolio of projects, including Flood Risk Management, Coastal Adaptation, Metal Mine Remediation, River Restoration, Peatland Restoration and River Basin Management Plans, helping to deliver positive outcomes for Wales' environment and communities.

Working within multidisciplinary project and plan teams, you will provide trusted advice and influence decision-making across NRW. Reporting to the Environment and Health Assessment Team Leader, you will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and within the wider team, sharing knowledge, promoting best practice and supporting the delivery of sustainable, high-quality projects and plans.

Driving is essential to this role. You must hold a full and current UK driving license as you will be required to visit sites that can be remote and inaccessible by public transport.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

This is a fixed-term role up until the end of March 2027.
